Are you looking for a concierge service? I've put together what I feel are the top five things to look for. Finding the right corporate or personal concierge service for you is not always an easy task, but here are just a few pointers to help you on your way. No. 1. Always use a concierge service that is a member of a concierge and errand association. If they are you can be assured that you are working with a reputable service that holds themselves to a higher standard of confidentiality and professionalism. No. 2. Look for experience! New concierge services just can't have the contacts you may need. It is amazing the difference only a few years makes. Concierge services that have been around for a few years will have contacts for tickets, that no one else can get, time savers that will help you in a pinch, they are more than errand services and can be as important to the busy professional, as your assistant. No 3. A well-rounded list of services is important. Make sure that the concierge service you choose is able to accommodate all of your requests, not just some. There is nothing more annoying than having to use three different people when one will do. Here are some services to look for:
No. 4. Event Planning, you may not be thinking about this today, but the corporate and personal concierge service should know allot about event planning. This seems like an odd comment at first, but think about the skills needed to be an event planner. They need to be: a good time manager, have the ability to get things done on budget, well organized, flexible, able to come through in a pinch, need I say more? Finding a concierge service that is capable of event planning also helps with number 3 above, now you don't need to go anywhere else when you forget a birthday. No. 5. Last, but certainly not least, please make sure the concierge service you choose is local to you, or has a local office. So many of the large services are based elsewhere in the world and they just don't have enough local contacts to get you just the right gift, reservation or service you need. Locally based concierge services know about all of the hot spots, the perfect places for you, that others, not from the area just don't know.
